i hate facebook Monday, September 10, 2007

Filed under: random — boboli @ 3:27 pm

i refused to surrender my soul to the evil power of facebook.

add reason #68073 – i just found out one of my exes is married.  recently.

i say recently ‘coz i went out with him less than 2 years ago.  unless he was already married when i was going out with him.  i wouldn’t be surprised tho.  knowning the guys i attract.  or guys i’m attracted to.

not a nice feeling.

dunno why i’m feeling the way i do.  i mean, i was the one who ended the relationship.  crap, now that i think about it… he was pretty cool… i had no gripes about him except for one thing.  one very important thing.  but let’s not get into it now…

anyway, i was totally over him.  eeeks.  i thought i did?!  i did i did I DID!  i have absolutely no desire to want to be with him.  argh.  plus, he was supposed to turn into a monk after i dumped him.  blah.

then why am i writing this?!  oh yes…

i hate facebook.  that’s where i found out he’s married.

no, i didn’t sign up for crackbook myself.  my coworker was just clicking around it at work and i thought i’d look up a couple of people… urgh.  why did i do that?!  arrgggh!

here’s the long awaited picture of the dress & my “tan”.

you can’t really see the dress in here but it gives you an idea of what seafoam looks like.  pretty pretty!  yes, it’s actually quite a beautiful colour.  as for my “tan”, some friends thought i looked hawaiian… others thought i just came back from hawaii… i was just relieved that i was able to cover my stupid ugly tanlines.  yeah, the tanlines weren’t stupid.  it was me who was stoo.pud.

special shoutouts go to wendy, my lovely stylist, the wonderful ladies at MAC and the fake&bake / airbrush tan place… *** and most importantly, my friend – the beautiful bride who didn’t freak out on me when i showed her my tanlines 2 days before her wedding… cheers, chan tai tai!

Three weeks ago, we had our “company BBQ” here…

Even with SPF55 sunblock, I ended up getting a bad@ss tan after spending 2 1/2 hr lounging on the beach.

So, I spent the next 2 weekends here…

And I still look like this…

This morning, I went to get an airbrush tan… but the lines are still very visible.

HELP!!  My friend’s wedding is this Saturday.  And my bridesmaid dress is strapless.  -_-

Any helpful suggestion is greatly appreciated!  (or does anyone know a good bodyshop?  heh)

**** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** **** ****

After I told my friend, who’s getting married this Saturday, about the spray-on tan, she emailed me this…

Ross: One Mississipi, two Mississipi, Three Mis…(the sprayer starts again, spraying him in the face and torso again) WAIT! WAIT! I’m not-I’ve not finished counting!!

(he leaves the booth)

(the assistant enters the room)

Ross: You sprayed my front twice!Assistant: You’ve never turned?Ross: No, I barely even got to three Mississippi. Assistant: Mississippi? I said count to five’!Ross: Mississippilesly?

I was staring at this picture for the last 20 minutes…

… when I got the dreaded phone call…

My Gong Gong passed away.

Those were the softest hands I’ve ever touched…

Rest peacefully, Gong Gong.  I don’t remember if I’ve ever told you… I love you.

My camera is currently vacationing in Southeast Asia.  The last I heard, it was soaking up some rays on Koh Phangan, an island off the coast of Thailand.  So, I don’t have any new photos to post.  But what’s a post without any pics?  Here’s an older picture I found on my work computer.  I like to look at it when I’m feeling frazzled.

Taken inside Pantheon, Rome – Summer 2003

Found this in my stack of work mail this morning -

“I will try this day to live a simple, sincere, serene life, repelling every thought of discontent, self-seeking and anxiety; cultivating magnanimity, self-control and the habit of silence; practicing economy, cheerfulness and helpfulness. And as I cannot in my own strength do this, or even with a hope of success attempt it, I look to thee, O Lord my Father, in Jesus Christ, my Savior, and ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit.”  (A Morning Prayer and Resolve – by Bishop Vincent)

… I couldn’t even get through the first semicolon without letting out a “ha!” followed by a deep sigh…

Doesn’t it look like my toes are wearing a turban??

Would they go with my seafoam green dress

*  Tree, I know we’re supposed to shop for silver shoes… but I got suckered into buying these.  Wasn’t hard tho… I’m weak when it comes to shoes.  The saleslady said they’d go with seafoam green and any “spring dresses”.  (Side note:  I doubt she knows what seafoam looks like!)   Anyway, do you approve?  If not, I’d be very happy to go hunt for silver shoes again… ^_^

**  Hope I won’t offend anyone out there by calling these “turban shoes”…

 - Lanikai Beach, Oahu

Mom just called.

Mom:  Busy?

Me:  Nah, just finished with our morning meeting.

Mom:  Wanna go to Mexico or Vegas?

Me:  When?

Mom:  The end of the month?

Me:  Oh, I was hoping you’d say this weekend… (since it’s a super duper long weekend… and I can always extend it too)

Me:  … oh yeah, WHY??

Mom:  Just wanna get away… feeling restless lately…

Me:  Me too!

My Mom’s cool.  I’ve already done Mexico a couple of times… and my first time was actually with my mom.  We hung out for a week at this lovely resort in Manzanillo… had pina coladas for breakfast… tequila shooters for nightcaps… and these 2 young guys tried to pick us up in the elevator the first night we got there.  And that’s when I knew for certain that we were gonna have a fabulous week there!  heh

I was kinda disappointed that my travel plan to HK/Vietnam/Cambodia/Thailand in May couldn’t come through.  Maybe this quick-getaway would help ease the post-holiday/pre-bday/rainy-gloomy-Vancouver-days/daily-work-stress bahumbah I’ve been feeling….

Where should we go?
