Write-off Friday, March 30, 2007

Dad’s car could be a write-off.

Yikes.

I don’t know if he’ll be happy about that.  I didn’t think the damage was that bad that it’d be a write-off.  But apparently, the impact was so great that the body of the car could be slightly bent.  So I guess it could be too costly to fix.

Depending on how much they’ll pay him for the car… I don’t know if he can find the same / similar car for the amount they’ll pay him out.

Again, I’m thankful he’s okay though.  Even though I never really liked the car, I’m glad I got to drive it 2 weekends ago.

zooooooooom zoooooooooooooom

2046_2046.jpg

Aiya, I was gonna get the 2046th visitor to my blog to leave me a message.  Yes, a Wong Ka-Wai freak, I am.

I noticed that I had reached the 2000-mark yesterday.  And didn’t think it’d reach 2046 that fast, afterall, I haven’t posted anything interesting lately.  But when I checked just now, it has reached 2038 already.  blah.

The last couple of days, I’ve got people searching on the following things and landed on my blog.

1)  “playboy” -  I nearly fell off my chair laughing when I saw that.  Betcha was disappointed when you got here, eh?  haha

2)  “baking soda as facial scrub” – hope I was able to discourage you from using it as a facial scrub

3)  “simple laksa recipe” – did you try my recipe??

4)  “korean boboli”  – huh?  Now you’ve got me curious… I’m gonna do a search on korean boboli and see what that’s all about!

5)  “brown and teal bridesmaid dress” - pretty combo!  But you can’t beat my seafoam grean dress!  ^_~

5)  “realistic cherry blossom tattoo” - HELLO!  Drop me a note if you’ve found some pics of realistic cherry blossom tattoo!  I’m always looking for them myself.  I’ve got a small cherry blossom tatt behind my ear… and I’m seriously looking at getting a bigger piece for my back (of cherry blossom as well!)  Let’s talk!  ^_~

While we’re on the subject, if you have any suggestions of what I should put on my back, lemme know.  I’m still partial to cherry blossoms… something on my right upper back that goes across the top of my right arm & shoulder and into my front chest / collarbone.  As most of you know, my loves are God, (family), dogs (namely Bear & ”L”) and cherry blossoms…

I’m drained.  Spent.  Exhausted.  Wore out.  Drained.  Impoverished.  I’m tiiiiiiiiired.

The cops showed up twice at my work today and Car 87 had to come as well.  It’s not unusual for us having to deal with violent, high-risk, mental health clients.  But we rarely have to call the cops.  With my 3 years being here, I only recall having to call the cops once or twice.  One time, a client who recently got her child removed by the ministry… came in with a knife and held us hostage for over 2 hours.  But today, we were not physically at risk and neither was the client… hopefully, we’ll have time to debrief tomorrow and find out why the cops were called.

Though I was quite distraught at one point because this client locked herself in the bathroom and was screaming & crying, highly agitated and verbally abusive to anyone who came in her way.  Rightaway, I thought about the children in the room… they should not be subjected to this sort of abuse.  So, I consulted with another staff and we quickly gathered the kids up and brought them into an office… before the cops arrived.  (ooh, I’m too tired to type…)

It’s been another long day.

I feel like I have nothing more to give.

12:48am.

Time to go to bed and get a quick fix of kd (Korean drama!  haha)… need to do a quick recharge before another day begins… in less than 6 hours…

Baking Soda Sunday, March 4, 2007

Filed under: beauty, random — boboli @ 5:12 pm

I bought a big box (1 kg) of baking soda a couple of days ago ‘coz I heard that baking soda is great for baths as it helps remove dead skin cells… therefore, leaving your skin soft and smooth.

After spending Friday cleaning my room, I thought I should take the time to clean (detox) myself as well.  I’m not ready for another 30-day cleanse, which involves starving myself for a day or two per week and a shake a day.  So I thought a quick way for me to detox is give myself a hot hot bath.

I threw in approx. 2 cups of epsom salt, which draws out toxins from the body and helps relax muscles and 2 cups of baking soda.  The box calls for 1/2 cup for the bath… but I felt very generous yesterday… heh  and well, I needed all the help I can get!

Ahhhh, simply delicious.

I curled up into the fetal position in the tub and almost fell asleep.

Last night, I thought “hmmm, the baking soda in the bath made my skin really soft… so what if I use that as a mask or scrub for my face?”

STUPID STUPID idea!

My face became really sensitive and turned all red like a cooked lobster!  Before I can grab my face-cloth, my face was already burning!!  So, I immediately washed my face with water.  Afterward, my face still felt soapy.  So, I thought I’d use my toner… non-alcoholic toner!  BUT it got worst.  I was nearly in tears… !

Baking soda bath – ooohhhh YES!

Baking soda face scrub – HECK NOOOO!

Filed under: Love, thoughts — boboli @ 12:10 am

It was my flex day today.  Spent the afternoon cleaning out my desk because my brother asked if I have an extra desk that he can have.  I don’t really have an “extra desk” but I do have this desk in my room that I’ve never used, other than to store things.

Dad called in the middle of my cleaning.

Me:  I’m cleaning up my desk… *proud!*

Dad:  Which desk?

Me:  The desk in my room.

Dad:  What desk?  I didn’t know you have a desk in your room.

Me:  It’s underneathe the piles and piles of clothes I have…

**  **  **  **  **  **

Took me a couple of hours but I did clean out my desk.  More importantly, removed all the clothes and knickknacks I had on there.  Found a couple of old agendas… I’m rather disturbed by the fact that I don’t remember 80% of the people mentioned in there.

And who’s this guy who sent me pages and pages of faxes back in the 90s?  (before dial-up internet, I guess?)  Apparently, I went out with him and he referred me as his “Lovie – Sweetie”  *shivers*  I can’t quite decipher his signature but I think his name’s “Jeff”.

Then there’s “Ian”.  The guy who called me all hours of the night.  (How was I able to lead a functional life with going to bed at 5am every morning and had school 2.5 hours later?!)  I found the page of my agenda that says I met him on May 26th, 1993.  For the next year or so, I jotted down each and every phone call he made to me, including the ones I missed.  And some of the highlights of our conversations.  He used to tell me “Life is Beautiful” – at that time, I didn’t quite believe him… but I loooooved the way he said it.  I found his cell number beside May 26th… and guess what I did?  I held my breath and called to see if he’s still using that number.  Slim chance, I know.  But I had to find out.  6.4.9.9.x.x.8.  A voice message came on… apparently, this number now belongs to a “Alan C.”.

**  **  **  **  **  **

I’m not done cleaning yet.  But I have gathered up a huge bag of garbage… and 2 bags of clothes, which I’m going to donate to my workplace.  And the faxes from Jeff, emails from HW, handwritten notes from IL… and that page of agenda from May 26th, 1993?  I thought I’d hold onto them for a wee bit longer…
