My camera is currently vacationing in Southeast Asia. The last I heard, it was soaking up some rays on Koh Phangan, an island off the coast of Thailand. So, I don’t have any new photos to post. But what’s a post without any pics? Here’s an older picture I found on my work computer. I like to look at it when I’m feeling frazzled.
Taken inside Pantheon, Rome – Summer 2003
Found this in my stack of work mail this morning -
“I will try this day to live a simple, sincere, serene life, repelling every thought of discontent, self-seeking and anxiety; cultivating magnanimity, self-control and the habit of silence; practicing economy, cheerfulness and helpfulness. And as I cannot in my own strength do this, or even with a hope of success attempt it, I look to thee, O Lord my Father, in Jesus Christ, my Savior, and ask for the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (A Morning Prayer and Resolve – by Bishop Vincent)
… I couldn’t even get through the first semicolon without letting out a “ha!” followed by a deep sigh…

Nice pic. Great composition & use of light!
Cambodia was AMAAAZZZZING! Wait til I sort out my pictures! I’ve got some Angkor Wat photos just for you!
Practicing “the habit of silence”, eh? No wonder you’ve been so quiet lately!
What does “practicing economy” mean?? Flying economy class?
It’s about time you update your blog!! How are you feeling these days? I like that prayer even though I’m not religious. I look at that list and I wonder if anyone can achieve all those things.
KEV — welcome back!! Update your pathetic blog and post up some pics! Did you go to Koh Samui?? Pretty amazing, wasn’t it??
Hey Vancouver! I’m in Washington State right now for a conference. Might swing by Vancouver this weekend. Would love to catch up with you over a bottle of 2001 Château d’Yquem – hypnotic and seductive – just like someone I know.
oh yah, AMEN!
Beautiful photo, Martie! Oh no, you left your camera in Koh Phangan?? Good luck in getting it back!
Nice, I wanna live a day like that….that Vincent guy sure knew what was important eh
